Join Oasis and discover the joy of watercolor using the paints and brushes you already own. Learn to mix luminous colors, create flowing washes, and let go of perfection as you rediscover the beauty of simple materials. We will discuss basic techniques and uses for the materials you own. Materials needed: two cups of water, paper towel, watercolor paper/watercolors/ brushes, – bring what you own, we will discuss how to use them effectively.

[Oasis] Just Write: Flash Fiction and Essays

Join Oasis for this four-part workshop series, where you’ll read and discuss exemplary pieces of very short fiction and non-fiction with a focus on the craft of writing. Through analysis and experimentation, you’ll learn how to write stories and essays that range in length from six words to 1,500 words, and you’ll have the chance to share your efforts in a supportive workshop environment.

We welcome writers who want to learn more about poetry craft, and revision. First, we read each other’s poems and offer suggestions. As time permits, we write for 15 minutes to a prompt (optional sharing), and/or discuss the printed lesson handout which is also emailed soon after the class session.
