DESCRIPTION:LGBTQ+ Exploratory Open Discussion: End of Life\, Death\, and Dying \nAre you curious to have a safe space to openly explore topics surrounding the end of life and death and dying? Join us to give your feedback on what topics would be welcome for an upcoming curriculum on death and dying through SAGEYou. \nTopics could include: \n\nAdvance Care Planning\nRituals for End of Life\nWhat is a Death Doula?\nLegacy Planning\nGrief and Loss\n\nIn our culture death and dying is a topic that is largely taboo. Dying is considered an emergency rather than a beautiful completion of life. Alongside heartache and loss is a sacred process\, akin to birth\, that is deserving of reflection\, profound open conversations\, and ultimately offers an opportunity for meaningful connection and community. \n____________\nKENDALL WALTON (she/her) has spent her life in the helping profession of the nonprofit sector\, first at a hospice for people dying of HIV/AIDS in the early 1990’s and more recently returning to this area of service and devotion as a death doula. She has trained in grief\, end of life\, death and dying. Her studies include the International End of Life Doula Association\, Alquimia\, Bridging Transitions as well as work with Deathwives and La Mort. Kendall has been personally inspired with the transformative nature of plant medicine and is interested in the use of psychedelics at the end of life to ease fear and suffering.
